Serving as the Artistic Director for the Austin Museum of Digital Art, I often end up creating promotional material, myself, for our programming. The Wide Interconsciousness, our fall exhibition, was a creation about which I felt a strong sense of authorship (as a curatorial offering) and wanted to make sure that the promo reflected my vision. It would have been less stressful to delegate the design and marketing work but…
The gallery show was accompanied by four one-night events and I wanted a consistent look for the posters and social media. Although these posters were not widely distributed, their creation was useful in the development of the banners for Facebook, the AMODA website and for distribution to the various venues hosting the events.
POSTERS & FB BANNERS
I also needed to create promotional trailers for the event and for the crowdfunding campaign. I ended up with a lot of animated assets that I could implement for individual posts on Instagram, Twitter and to build the digital signage for the gallery show (an animated loop cut together with a montage of the gallery pieces which became an eye-catching advertisement for the show) .
This was excerpted from the Indiegogo promo video and functioned as an early slogan for the show.
