The Museum of Human Achievement and Natalie George Productions hired me to create some concept designs for an experiential pop-up for three venerable candy brands at SXSW last year. The installations for M&Ms and Twix were to be at the Lustre Pearl bar on Rainey Street.
We also created designs for a Malteasers experience at the Parlour (also on Rainey). The Museum of Human Achievement’s crew, consisting of many amazing theater, sound and visual artists contributed to the M&M’s installation. Some of these renderings reflect their ideas. I also ended up modeling the two bars in C4D.

Malteaser ‘Honeycomb Hallway': Would’ve really liked to have seen this one IRL.

Detail of the M&M Red air guitar stage.
Detail of the M&M Orange ‘fort’. Although it went through several design revisions, this was my favorite.
M&M Yellow area. Sound artist, Steve Parker was to be involved, and I thought that his signature brass instrument sculpture might look cool as light fixtures.
M&M Blue candy organ. I think that they ended up building this, although it didn’t dispense candy like we had hoped.
